Nicholson new ombuds for Danforth faculty

Linda Nicholson, PhD, the Susan E. and William P. Stiritz Distinguished Professor in Women’s Studies in Arts & Sciences, has been named the new ombuds for Danforth Campus faculty. The Office of Ombuds was established in 2010 to provide faculty a confidential, informal place to discuss concerns about the university, its policies or its procedures.

Entrepreneurship competitions begin tomorrow

The Skandalaris Center for Entrepreneurial Studies will kick off its two business plan competitions at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6. Combined, the Olin Cup and YouthBridge Social Enterprise and Innovation Competition will award more than $200,000 in funding for new commercial and social ventures.

Volleyball opens season with six wins

The second-ranked volleyball team swept its first six opponents at home over the weekend to get off to a 6-0 start. The Bears continue their 10-match homestand by hosting the Washington University/ASICS National Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7 and 8, at the Field House.
